Hi Jon,

The upgrade from ArtCAM Express 2015 R2 (Download Only) to ArtCAM Express 2015 R2 (Boxed) cannot be purchased from our Online Store; it must be processed manually by a Delcam Sales Representative. The price of upgrading from ArtCAM Express 2015 R2 (Download Only) to ArtCAM Express 2015 R2 (Boxed) is typically $45, plus shipping.

If you want to proceed with the upgrade, please send an email to online-support@artcam.com with your contact number and suggest a time and date on which it would be convenient for a Delcam Sales Representative to contact you.

If you require the support of the forum community, I recommend that you register as a Verified ArtCAM Express User as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation.

Artcam Express 2015 and text on a curve

With the Tool Settings: Text Tool panel displayed, and your vector text and curve selected, left-click beside the first character in the word you want to reposition, then hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click and drag the text along the curve.

Once you are more familiar with the program and other tools (like vector and relief layers) and have practice you will be amazed at how quickly such things can go. There is a stepped learning curve in which first you will be figuring out all of the basics and getting used to them and then getting to the real power of the program in more complicated relief creation and editing. One of the early things to catch onto for things like signs is that often a manufacturing strategy that combines relief and 2d work has some great results. For example, instead of using the shape editor to make the prismatic tops check out the v-carve toolpath creation method for prismatic letters.

A few years ago, after an update these same problems happened to me (got rather frustrated) What I should have done, and what you should do, right now, is contact support, pointing out this problem, I think that after support gets involved this problem should have a fix in place (my hope). The next time this frustrates me I will be giving them a call, but you can do it right now.

Creating Text Vector

When creating a new model and using Text in a relief, everything sets up correctly, however, how do you set the Z max and Z min? It never gives me the option. V-bit gives the option for Z depth, but as a relief, I cannot find it.

Opening New Model tab in Artcam Express

I am very new to Artcam Express. I have been following YouTube vidios. When they open New Model they get size prompts for X, Y, and Z. I only get X and Y. Is there some setting that I have missed? Thanks

Yep I think you might be a little foggy on that one Mike :D .
currently I have the latest build of each version from 2011 thru to 2015 R2 on this computer. They all work correctly except for 2015 SP3 (334)
If your having additional issues you should report them to your reseller

Hi Alfred,

Welcome to the ArtCAM Forum! What version and build of ArtCAM Express are you working in? To confirm this, select the Help > About ArtCAM Express menu option in your ArtCAM Express software. For example, ArtCAM Express 2015 R2.SP1 (64-bit build 830).

After creating your model, select the Toolpaths > Material Setup menu option and specify the Material Thickness using the Material Setup dialog.

If you require the support of the forum community, I recommend that you register as a Verified ArtCAM Express User as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation.
