There are a couple work-arounds for this. Here is the easiest way: If your material is actually 1/2" and you want the relief to have it's top at 7/16" then after zeroing your bit on your cnc drop it to minus 1/16" and manually reset zero to this height (Make sure you are not over the object when you drop it down). This is assuming you designed for zero at the top of the object. If you zeroed to the table.
